Conor McGregor Says He Was Wrong To Punch That Old Guy And That He'll Fight Before The Year Is Over
Conor McGregor just briefly appeared on SportsCenter in an interview with Ariel Helwani (which will air in full tonight at 8pm on ESPN2) where he both apologized for punching that old man in the pub and predicted he fights before the year is up.
Honestly, it’s pretty damn hard to believe either of these things at the moment, but I would obviously like to. I did feel that Conor sounded very genuine, as well, when apologizing, but it’s not the first time we’ve been in this scenario, you know? He also once again mentioned that his camp’s strategy was the reason he lost to Khabib (which is so lame to me every time he does it), and pushed a bit more for that rematch before settling on “anybody” as his next opponent in an ideal world.
I’d love to see a motivated Conor McGregor off the streets and back into the cage where he belongs, not causing trouble for anybody other than his fellow lightweights, so I’m hoping this interview is what we look back on when we talk about the return of the Notorious. Fingers crossed it is.
